Kids Martial Arts
Ages 8-11
Practical Self-Defense
All students become proficient in the most important techniques from striking arts (Muay Thai, Karate, Taekwondo, Boxing) and the most important techniques from grappling arts (Wrestling, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu). You can rest much easier knowing that your child has real self-defense options.
Precise Structure
All classes at Rise Martial Arts are structured down to the very second, keeping your child engaged with a consistent and proven experience.
Confidence That Lasts
Confidence has to be earned. Students at Rise must actually earn their ranks. They’re graded methodically with challenging (but scaling) standards. So when students actually promote, they know they earned it. That instills in them durable confidence that can last for life. Not false arrogance.
More Kids Program Info

All kids at Rise learn a mixed martial arts curriculum comprised of the most important striking (Muay Thai, Taekwondo, & Karate) techniques and grappling (Wrestling, Judo, Jiu-Jitsu) techniques.
-
No. This is a mixed martial arts school. Mixed martial arts incorporates techniques from a variety of styles, including Muay Thai, Karate, BJJ / Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, and many others. But our rank and curriculum system are not any one of those specific arts.

Classes are precisely 45 minutes in length.

Absolutely. Parents can watch whenever they’d like. We’re an open book.

Yes. Our literal approximate estimate of how many students cannot participate in our program because of energy issues is 1 in 500. It is almost unheard of. If anything, we do a little better with high energy students than we do with less active ones, because our classes move so quickly.
-
He/she is highly likely to be just fine. The percentage of students we have to turn away as a result of poor behavior is approximately 1 in 500.
That isn’t because we let students get away with things. Far from it. We are far stricter than most martial arts schools. We just have extremely compelling systems for getting and keeping student compliance. Most of which are positive. Some are punitive. -
No long-term commitments. Our program is strictly month to month.
-
Yes! New students will generally be with the newest group we have available. They will also receive one on one time before class starts. Furthermore, instructors always know when a student is new, and your child will be accommodated accordingly.
That said, our classes are challenging, even (or especially) for beginner students. -
Most students train twice per week. You can train more or less if you’d like.
-
