Dexter Location Schedule Info
-
Students train 1, 2, or 3 times per week.
-
Ages 3-4: 30-35 minutes.
All Others: 45-55 minutes.
-
Students enroll in a set schedule. But you can switch as long as there’s room.
-
Because that would ruin a very critical feature of our school: Our strict student to teacher ratio.
At schools where students can come to any day/time, class sizes become wildly unpredictable.
Because we know how many students will be in each class, it allows for a very consistent, high quality experience with plenty of individual attention. -
It’s month to month. No contracts. You can start or stop at any time.
-
Simply ask! But keep in mind that some classes are full, at times. So there is sometimes a wait.
-
Yes, but if the age gap is large, they will be training in separate groups. Age groupings are as follows:
3-4
5-7
8-12
13-17
18+
So, we do have classes where 5-7 and 8-12 can train at the same time, but they’d of course be divided onto different parts of the mat. Because those ages move at different paces, with a different techniques, etc. -
Limited capacity and school schedule necessities. For example:
A 4:20 PM class time isn’t ideal for a good percentage of parents of 3 to 4 year old children. However, a 4:20 PM class is simply out of the question for many parents of 8 year old children (some simply aren’t out of school yet).
So those are often reserved for that younger age group, out of necessity. With very few later times because the demand is so high for those later times, with older children. -
If so, just marginally. Our schedule is the same, year-round. Other than necessary changes to fit students in as they grow older.
-
For starters, students are essentially never grouped outside of their age group (5-7 year old kids aren’t really ever grouped with 8-12 year old children). But apart from that:
Size, maturity, discipline, temperament, skill, rank, and experience are all relevant variables. Headmasters (general managers), oversee class groupings to ensure good (though, not perfect) grouping each class.
